Recognizing that individuals impacted by the criminal justice system (CJS) are often underrepresented and/or absent from research, policy and program development, the Cluster includes a Community Advisory Network (CAN).
We have invited individuals impacted by the CJS, community partners, stakeholders, and policymakers with diverse and inclusive perspectives.
To ensure the directions of research and knowledge mobilization strategies generated through Cluster activities are relevant and meaningful to those disproportionate affected by the CJS, CAN members provide consultation and strategic guidance. Their leadership is honoured in accordance with Research 101's A Manifesto for Ethical Research in the Downtown Eastside.
